+ Abbey Corps

One thing that I kind of like about Rocketboom is that I have never
done any press releases. I also dont have an email list; Until now, I've always
just fielded the incoming. I'm not against that kind of outreach, it's just
interesting that there has never been any.

Well all of that is about to change.

I'm going to post some news on my blog! :)

I'll post it in pieces over the next several days. I'm calling it
blog post suspense.

And so, since Rocketboom began, the biggest most important step of my
independent career has been made.

Clue #1
Jeff Pulver and I have co-founded a new studio network.

And so begins Abbey Corps.

My next clue will reveal which other shows are a part of the studio
and then I will go on to explain why I believe it's a much better business than
Podshow or Podtech.

Onward and Upward.

I look forward to reading your take on improving/differentiating the Podshow business model.

WHOA! That is huge news.

If Jeff Pulver is involved you know it's going to be interesting.

Interesting. Knowing the two of you as well as I do -- which is to say, moderately -- I can imagine you have some curveballs to pitch at the waiting web world. Best wishes!

I think this is great news for the industry. More developers getting into the market. The thing that confuses me is your mention of PodTech and PodShow. You say "I will go on to explain why I believe it's a much better business than Podshow or Podtech."

It appears as if you see PodTech as a competitor to your venture. I see us as possible partners not competitors. PodShow and PodTech have been pushing out alot of great content and continue to aggregate more producers. We all have a great opportunity ahead of us. I'm looking forward to hearing your plans Andrew.

I'm also looking forward to having you explain to me what PodTech's business plan is and helping us define our product roadmap.

Andrew: how about lunch after the holidays? Me, you, and Adam - I'm buying.

> If Jeff Pulver is involved you know it's going to be interesting.

Why? Network2.tv might just be the least interesting thing going on right now in podcasting or video. And that's saying something. Bad name, bad execution.

Some of these guys (Andrew included) have to realize that the world is a LOT bigger than the yahoo videoblogging chatroom and these wacky conferences that are springing up everywhere.

Talking to people who don't matter about stuff that doesn't matter is just, well, talk.

To that end, I look forward to seeing real news and, more importantly, real action. The constant promises heard 'round the videoblog world are running awful thin and it's time to shut up and put up.

Thanks everyone!! And John, let's do that lunch. I dont think we are competing at all. I think we have designed a great business plan for how to put this together.

A lot of the plan comes from observing and talking with you guys and especially from talking with people who have shows on Podtech and Podshow.

I am a big fan of Rocketboom, especially how you develop your business step by step. That is true innovation. I look forward to hear more about that. You inspired me to start my own video blog.
